Contrary to the claims of the Deputy Governor however, impeccable sources from the State Ministry of Finance has faulted the claims of the Deputy Governor. Records has shown that the Deputy Governor has, to date, been paid a total of N209.6m in DTA. The sum is broken down as N15m, N58.2 N110.3 and N25.9m for the years 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively. This consequently, seemed to have debased the claims of the Deputy Governor in this respect.
The government of Kano State therefore felt slighted by the Deputy Governor in view of the glaring falsehoods against it and persistentently accusing the government and it’s officials.
Consequent upon the above and other atrocities committed by the Deputy Governor in flagrant disobedience to his oath of office and of allegiance, the member of the Kano State House of Assembly deemed it necessary to commence impeachment procedure against the Deputy Governor. Already, 30 of the 40 members has signed the notice in that connection.
The Deputy Governor, on getting wind of the plans of the Kano Assembly, rushed unceremoniously and on a sunday, to tender a voluntary resignation from the office. This was done so that the Deputy Governor may save his face and avoid the agony of being forced out of office.
