The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Nasarawa state, Ishaq Ahmed Kana has sympathized with Pensioners over the unabated percentage payment.
Kana who said retirees were left to die untimely due to administrative neglegence, promised to change the narrative by according impetus to the prompt payment of pension and gratuity.
The former Federal lawmaker stated this while flagging his governorship campaign in Keffi,the headquarters of Keffi Local Government.
While speaking further, Ishaq Kana alledged that the Al-Makura-led government in the state is corruptly run by a 5-man cabal to the detriment of the people of the state.
He listed the cabal members comprises of the governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, three members of his family and another critical official in the government who have continued to defraud the state of its resources.
He maintained that several billions of naira received from the federation account by the state government had been swindled for personal use.
“Governor Al-Makura awarded contracts for the so-called road projects to himself and members of his families and relatives alone.
According to him, “I was one of those who brought Al-Makura as governor of Nasarawa State in 2011 but I must say that I am disappointed in him and my support for him highly regretted”
Urging electorates to reject both the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic party by voting en masses for his party, stressing that SDP was the best alternative and solution to the current insecurity and other challenges confronting the state and country as a whole.
Ahmed Kana assured that his government will pay thirty thousand naira minimum wage to the state civil servants, pay pensions and other entitlements to pensioners in the state as at when due.
A House of Representatives flagbearer under the party, Emmanuel Bako, assured that SDP will form the next government in the state.
Urging the electorates to go out enmass and vote for all the SDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
