Uba revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan failed in Adamawa due to selfish and ill advice offered by some Adamawa elites who rallied behind President Jonathan in the villa.
The former campaign director said his conscious is pricking him and that is why he is letting Jonathan and whole world know, that Adamawa state Political gladiators also helped in scuttling his chances of becoming the president of Nigeria for a second term. He said there he is apologising on behalf of Adamawa people for the wrong advises given by the state stakeholders in the state.
Dan Arewa in an apology letter written to President Jonathan made available to Newsmen in Yola, said that Jonathan wouldn’t have not lost woefully if he did not yield to the ill advise given to him by those senior citizens from Adamawa who have wrong motives and stood against anyone who might have good advises for him
He said that ousted Governor Murtala Nyako had earlier warned President Goodluck Jonathan to be mindful of those people during the PDP crisis that finally led to defection of five governors to the opposition party (APC)
He also observed that the politicians misled the president into believing that they were popular and can deliver PDP in the Presidential and Governorship elections but they failed.
“Jonathan is a nice person but those around him particularly from Adamawa were the ones that mislead him and caused his failure”, Arewa said in the statement.
Arewa recalled that in 2011 presidential election, he and Nyako delivered Adamawa to Jonathan just as they did this time around to Buhari, adding that the development proved Nyako to be a more reliable and responsible person whom Jonathan should have relied on.
He commended Jonathan for his show of statesmanship by conceding defeat and making the election one of the outstanding one in Nigeria.
“By that action, Jonathan has doused serious tension in the country making him to stand out as a man of peace who other African leaders need to emulate”, Arewa said.
