Heavy Gunshots Rocks Jos As Security Personnel Foils Fresh Crisis In Jos On Sunday

Member Representing Jos North, North Constituency, Hon Ibrahim Baba-Hassan has appealed for calm amongst the peace loving people of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state .

In an interview with our correspondent in Jos, Baba-Hassan condemned the uprising resulting to loss of lives and properties on Sunday.

Baba-Hassan said the people of Jos north have been known for their peaceful coexistence but frowned at the mayhem whereby some miscreants took advantage to create unnecessary conflict.

According to him, the earlier report of skirmishes in Jos North LGA  the  Plateau State have been brought under controlled.

Plateau state Police command has confirmed the fresh disturbances in Dutse Uku, Rikkos and Cele Bridge communities on Sunday.

Police foiled attackers said ,”We have mobilised our personnel to the area. As we speak, the Area Commander Jos Metro is on ground there,” State Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed.

Meanwhile ,the Plateau State Peace Agency ,Mr. Joseph Lemgmang confirmed the deployment of troops to the troubled areas by assuring the residents of government present to put the situations under control.

It however called for vigilance and relevant security information.

Violence reportedly broke out in the cold tin city, Sunday afternoon following the murder of  Miango boy who went to barbing saloon but was attack by some suspected Hausa boys that spark out the violence .

Locals say heavy gunshots were heard in the affected areas for hours but authorities are yet to  confirmed the real cause of the clashes.
