Yakubu Busari

A fresh attempt by suspected unknown gunmen to assassinate the new Vice Chancellor University of Jos has been foiled by security personnel where one person lost his life

The suspected assailant who stormed the residence of the Vice Chancellor at about 8PM left their trail of killing creating fear and tension on the residents.

The incident occurred barely one week after the brutal murder of Ron Kulere while returning from farm with security personnel and daughter In-law on early hours of Monday.

However, the securities deployed to Bokkos LGA to bring the culprits to book are still faced with the challenges of how to unravel the killers.

The Vice Chancellor Professor Sebastian S Maimako who was elected last two months by the university senates as the substantive vice chancellor was said to be outside the country when this incident happened.

A group known as the Movement for the Advancement and Protection of UNIJOS (MAAPU) called on security operatives to speedily investigate and fish out the culprits behind the attack on the VCs residence.

The group in a statement signed by Comrade Daniel Tanko reads” that it is not comfortable with the attack coming after a first Class Monarch was recently murdered in the state.

“The statement reads that “we are appealing to security operatives to live up to its biding in protecting lives and properties of citizens”

“The Peaceful atmosphere on the Plateau should not be murdered by enemies of Peace. The statement added.
