Guber Aspirant Sues APC Over Bauchi Governorship Primary’By Masoyi Lusa, Bauchi

A Governorship aspirant that contested last All Progressive Congress APC Governorship Primary in Bauchi State Comrade Mohammed Abdullahi Tanko Ningi has filed a fresh suit before Bauchi Federal High Court against the Party over the conduct of the last Primary election conducted by the Party.
Other defendants in the suit are Independent National Electoral Commission and the APC Governorship candidate Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
Addressing newsmen in Bauchi over the weekend Comrade Ningi said the result of the Primary election announced by the electoral committee in which Abubakar was declared winner was contrary to the laws of the Party.
He said the laws of the Party stated that for Governorship election members of the election committee most come from outside the State, and alleged that an indigene of Bauchi State Dr Danjuma Dabo who was not a member of the committee , but conspicuously   participated in the counting of votes contrary to the guidelines€.
Ningi alleged that before the commencement of the election the chairman of the election committee Barrister Oluwa Rotimi Akeredolu announced that 2854 delegates were accredited for the Primary , but at the end of the voting 2901 votes were counted, which clearly shows over voting and according to the party laws where you recorded over voting the election should be cancel, but they went ahead and declared Abubakar Winner.
He said six out of the eight aspirants that contested wrote separate petitions to the National Leadership of the Party and a reminder, from 4th December when the primary was held to date the party remained silent and refused to take any action over their complaints for that reason he decided to go to court to seek for Justice.
Ningi appeal to the Court to stop Abubakar from parading himself as Bauchi APC Governorship candidate and to stop APC from submitting his name to the electoral body and to stop the electoral body from recognizing Abubakar as the partys candidate,
When contacted State  Publicity Secretary of APC Awwal Jallah said ” May be the aggrieved aspirants did not submit their grievances to the right channel in APC, if they did so, it would have receive attention promptly. Because we treat every complain receive to the latter, and when we are served with the hearing process of the suit we will act according to the laws of the Party”
Jallah said before the primary election the committee met with all the aspirants and the election was conducted the way they agreed.
