Group urges Lalong to revoke private school licenses in Plateau state

A group of concerned parents in Plateau state has urged Governor Simon Bako Lalong to revisit or revoke licenses given to private schools owners.

They decried the poor conditions of Private schools and indiscriminate extortion of money by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in name of improving facilities.

In an interview with some parents in Jos North local Government Area on Wednesday, the group condemned in its totality the high of fees charge by NAPPS.

They advised Governor Simon Lalong to use strong measure that can reduce the problem of extortions, examine malpractice and unqualified teachers operating under the   National proprietors of private schools on the Plateau state.

According to the statement, the association held secret meeting to jack their school fees and cause unnecessary strike in public schools for them to benefit.

The National Association of proprietors of private schools (NAPP) also concluded plan to skyrocket school fees for their due advantage in Plateau state.

This formed part of the resolution reached at the end of meeting held at women multipurpose centre in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau.

The president of NAPPS Comrade Ezekiel Ayuba Sabo said they are faced with problems of multiple taxation from the ministry and board of internal revenue.

He called for harmonization of tax policy by Plateau state government to enable its members contributes to the development of the state.

Sabo admitted that among them are those who are operating illegal schools litter across the state but vow that the association will deal with those defaulters.
