Group Of Teachers Demand Payment Of Outstanding Salaries In Bauchi

A group of teachers who alleged that they have not been paid their salaries for several months in Bauchi has called on the Government to pay them in order to have ease of life.

 

The Leader of the Group, Malam Bashir Usman said that they will write letters to relevant quarters in order to have the outstanding salaries paid.

According to him, his members who are affected came under the auspices of “Teachers Right” in order to air their predicaments for the government to know.

 

Bashir said that the problem started during the previous administration where many of his colleagues were affected for at least 5,19,21,52 months and above.

He said despite frantic efforts to solve the problem by complaining and meeting the state accountant general and the TUC chairman as well as, the situation has not witnessed any success.

 

Bashir maintained their strong belief in the present administration in the state as the Government of the people that have listening ears pointed that they will continue to agitate until their problem is squarely addressed.

 

Also speaking, one of the affected teachers, Mrs. Rabeccah, appeal to the government of the state to come to their aid and solve their problems.

 

She said that she and her colleagues have not been having it easy to fend for their families, most especially with the current harsh economic situation in the country.
