Group Of Owerri West Patriots League Laments Hon.Onyemechi’s Ineffectiveness

Dan Opara

A certain group of prominent men of integrity and notable youths from Owerri West LGA,have recently rejected their House of Assembly Member Representing Owerri West State Constituency,Hon.Kanayo Onyemechi, aka Dele,

He is also known popularly as “Egbe Eji Eje Ogu” of Owerri West, making known their grievances open through their Publicity Secretary, Comrade Martins Eze.

Speaking, Comr.Eze,said “Since the people of Owerri West LGA voted for Hon.Onyemechi into the State House of Assembly, that he has not spoken a word on the floor of the plenary. Onyemechi has not  sponsored any bill as it concerns his constituency, not even to raise issues concerning the state of rural roads in the LGA unlike his counterparts from Ikeduru, Mbaitoli etc.”

The group made alarming complaints which gave teeth to their agitation and claim that Hon. Onyemechi is ineffective only imposed on the people of Owerri West by Hon.Jerry Alagbaoso whom the later served at various capacities. They made their claims open that Hon.Onyemechi entry into the State House of Assembly was a pay back not as a matter of competence.

They said that Hon.Onyemechi is bereft of the modern day legislation.

While they narrated their feelings before the Chairman Owerri West Journalists Association,OJA,Chief Sunny Ejiogu,to bring their protest to the knowledge of all the notable journalists of Owerri West extraction.

They further threatened that they will later consult their legal department and will make formal application to INEC as contained in Nigeria Constitution for the “recall process of the law” maker to commence if nothing is done to address their position.

On the other hand, the Chairman of Owerri West Journalists Association, OJA, Chief Sunny Ejiogu, later called on the attention of the group and advised them to suspend their actions for now as to allow the peace of Owerri West to remain.

He promised that he will draw the attention of the law maker, Hon.Dele to their complaints, that they should rather join OJA to take Owerri West to an enviable height than bring her down, he further warned that any attempt to make the situation a public thing may mare the name of the law maker.

Finally, Chairman of OJA and her members contacted the House member Hon.Dele through his office at the Imo State House of Assembly but he refused to respond to the letter they officially wrote to him for a visit, and he also refused to respond to various text messages put to his cell phone by the OJA chairman and other members of the association.

Consequently, some members of OJA who spoke to Onyemaechi on phone disclosed the he picked his telephone calls and responded to them to go ahead in their supportive bid of his dead on arrival move to recall him.

Hear Hon.Dele,”Hello, who is on the line? Please, with a loud voice, go ahead to recall me. I do not want to hear anything from you (the caller). If you like talk about your recall to tomorrow, I don’t care, it cannot work nor stand”.
