Group Hails CBN Governor For ‘creative’ Reforms: Requests He Upturns Adesoji Ogungbesan’s Appointment ‘arranged’ By Deputy Governor Usoro, Olakunle Abiola

The League of Patriots has hailed the creative reforms by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso. The group in its bi-monthly telegraph delegate meeting monitored by LeadingReporters also requested the CBN Governor to, in the spirit of statecraft investigate the menace of the backdoor appointment of one Mr. Adesoji Ogungbesan whose appointment into the position of an Executive Director in MINT defied any known morality and due process.

The group congratulated the CBN Governor for having the willpower to do what he does and for harkening to the voice of reasoning by ensuring that the like of Olakunle Abiola is relieved of his duty. In the same vein, the group requested the governor to revisit Mr. Adesoji Ogungbesan’s employment saga and rein in the glaring anomaly which tends to violate the code of operations in MINT and by extension, the interview report of the panel that interviewed Mr. Adesoji.

“We simply want to forewarn that Mr. Adesoji, the current Executive Director – Corporate Services in MINT has a lot up his sleeves which may negatively rub off on the operations of a sensitive government company like MINT.

“We understand the fact that his mission goes beyond what he has made everyone believe. Both himself and the man through whom he found his way to MINT Mr Olakunle Abiola have a mission. We thank the governor for his proactiveness in identifying the glaring desperation who we learned forged his NYSC certificate and has been shown the way out. We want the governor to revisit the situation and processes that brought Mr Adesoji to MINT.

“We want Mr Cardoso the governor not to rest on his oars in ensuring that he extends his query into why someone like Adesoji Ogungbesan who was interviewed and approved for the position of a senior manager was eventually given a position as strategic as Executive Director Corporate Services in a sensitive government company like MINT.

The group said it defied every known logic that Mr. Adesoji, who claimed to be receiving N73m per annum, would stoop to receiving a salary as low as N21m.

League of Patriots is a pro-good governance advocacy group based in Texas with membership drawn from professional Nigerians in Europe, Asia and other African countries. The group is known for providing strategic information support that exposes corruption, supports morality in leadership and braces statecraft.
