Group Celebrates Peace Call For Interreligious Cooperation In Nigeria

A group of Ambassadors for Peace (AFP) have commenced its selfless service with 15 members in plateau state.

The groups also solicited for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria by celebrating with one of its member at Kings Bite British America JOS.

The Chairman Ambassadors for Peace (AFP) Amb. Garba Agok lauded the celebration and success of Ambassador Professor Andrew Haruna who was appointed as the vice Chancellor Federal University Gashua, Yobe state.

Agok stressed that the group is saddle with a role to promote peace in the country with a call on the members to rededicate more on peace building.

He called on Governor Simon Bako Lalong to partner with the peace Ambassadors to secure the state.

Director Human Resources Abubakr Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi Professor M.U Malumfashi Shade more light on the religion intolerance in Nigeria.

He emphasized that people are manipulating religion to divide the citizens through their selfish agenda.

He encouraged security agencies to be  on alert to save lives and properties of citizens because there are influx of  criminals in the state  .

This was done in a paper title “effective leadership in Nigerian universities”

Malumfashi noted that effective leadership is a key ingredients to development of every university.

He reiterated that universities are bind with three perspectives as teaching, research,and community service.

He added that a university system is a complex system to run than running a political office.

He expressed worried with Nigerian universities facing diverse challenges of autonomy. Universities also faces challenges in its policy of  inculcating  poor students teaching  from secondary schools up to university level.

He further encouraged other Vice chancellors to eradicate cultism and kidnapping which had continue to  ravaged our respective institutions.

The Vice chancellor federal University Gashua in Yobe state Professor Andrew Haruna ,commended the   ambassadors for peace members for honoured done to him He stressed  the potential of youths as  live wire of every societal development.

He expressed hope for youths and will better the future of the university therefore promised to equip them with a bright future which he enjoys today.

He applauded university service for standardization areas of research and community service. He stated that as an institution of learning will ensure efficiency in the lives of the young ones to direct them to respect the academic rules of an institution.

Haruna advised the students to focus on their studies derivation to achieve set goals. He encouraged them to be making use of the knowledge acquired and be more proactive.

He urged students to always Open Avenue for inter relationship and build bridges for a successful upgrade of enlightened membrane and avoid monolithic thinking not to be redundant.

High point of the event was in honours of the celebrant received an award of a vibrant ambassador who stand for the youths development.
