Governor Lalong Assures Of His Continuous Support To The Nigerian Prisons Service

The Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has pledged its administration continuous support to the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) and to work with all the federal agencies towards the development of the state and the country.

Assistant Superintendent Luka Ayedoo in a press statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Jos said the visit of Assistant Comptroller General to plateau command was to familiarize with the command.

He said, the Deputy Governor of Plateau State Prof. Sony Tyoden who stated this while receiving the Assistant Controller General of Prisons in-charge Zone ‘H’,   at the Government house on the 17th March, 2017.

According to him, the Deputy Governor who spoke on behalf of the Executive Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Bar. Simon Bako Lalong, appreciated the contributions of the Nigerian Prisons Service to national security.

Lalong further pledged his administration support to the service to humanity in order to improve the well-being of the citizens and better her yield to the State and the nation as a whole.

In his responds, the Assistant Controller General of Prisons, John Mrabure, earlier thanked the Government of Plateau State for bringing succor to the inmates within the command through payment of fines for the indigents, and provision food stuffs especially during festive periods.

He also commended the high level of synergy observed between the Plateau State Government and the Nigerian Prisons Service.

Mr   Mrabure disclosed that the visit was part of the routine quarterly inspection tour of Prisons formations within the command by the Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘H’; aimed at gaining the on-the-spot knowledge and assessment of the facilities, staff and inmates administration in the command.

The Assistant Controller General inspected staff parade, infrastructural facilities, logistics, medical and health services in the various formations visited.
