Governor Dankwambo Promises Transparency, Open Policy

Ibrahim-Hassan-DankwamboGovernor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State has promised that the second tenure would be built on principle of probity, even as he assured to establish an open door policy that would guarantee transparency and accountability.

“I wish to reiterate that our administration will continue to pursue principle of probity, transparency, and accountability predicated on respect for the rule of law, and due process in the conduct of government business.”

Speaking in Gombe on Friday  after taking oath of office at his swearing in ceremony as reelected governor of the state, Governor Dankwambo expressed that, he believed an open, participatory, and consultative government would go a long way in promoting good governance and peaceful coexistence.

He said, his administration would work towards revamping the economy of the state through its various sectors particularly areas that are considered as comparative advantage to the state.

According to him, some of the steps to be taken towards transforming the state by the new administration was to give more attention to the agricultural sector and other important sectors in other to boost the economy, noting that, the state has been endowed with conducive environment, good climate, fertile soils and large dams that are suitable for irrigation, tourism, commerce, and industry.

He said, his administration in the last four years has invested a huge mount in its various sectors  particularly, the education sector with a view to transform the state, even as he said his administration in its second tenure would inject more funds, particularly in the agricultural sector to create more job opportunities more especially for the youths.

Dankwambo however, called on all political parties and their followers to support government and its policies in other to move forward, even as he promised to fully support the new president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammad Buhari.
