Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring lives are improved through a partnership with international donor agencies.
Bala made this known on Thursday, when he received in audience, the representatives of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) at the Bauchi Government House where he appreciated the massive contributions of stakeholders and donors in the sectors of water sanitation, nutrition, health, and education.
According to the governor, Bala said, his administration has constructed and equipped hundreds of PHCs with a view to promoting healthcare delivery for the benefit of the citizens of Bauchi State.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Dr. Eduardo Celedes, commended Governor Bala for his tremendous achievements and determination, adding that UNICEF will continue to support and partner with the State Government for the benefit of the citizens.
He disclosed that Bauchi has been selected as the only State to pioneer the project in the country, adding that the new project which is called “1000 days Survival of Integrated Child Strategy” is for a period of two years from the conception of the pregnancy 9 months up to 330 days in the 2 years.
Adding that the UNICEF will also support the State in the areas of capacity building and human resources management.
The UNICEF representative further explained that the new intervention project is expected to take in April next year after the signing of the MoU with the State Government.
