Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state in a bid to combat the lingering ethnic and communal violence that rocked the state has assured the people of the state of his administration’s readiness and determination to tackle the upheaval has promised to embark on the disarmament of Eggon militia group.
The state governor gave the indication during a press conference with a Journalist held at the presidential Lodge, Lafia, The governor who spoke shortly after the press briefing said he would ensure that total peace and tranquility returns to the volatile zone.
He resolve to accord impetus to people’s oriented project has directed impact on the lives of the people of Nasarawa state, He however said he will give utmost attention to the welfare of its citizenry.
Stating that he would add value to commoners by carrying all and sundry along, Adding that improving on the welfare of the people is not about issuing money to the people, The governor in a concerted effort to boost commercial activities in the state has promised to construct three international markets each in the three senatorial district.
‘’As you people are aware of the manifestos of the ruling party in the country, we at the state level would stamped on corruption as well create employment, He opined that the following are the cardinal objective of the All Progressives Congress.
Umaru Tanko Al-Makura commended the resilient and doggedness of the people of the state for voting APC all way, saying the success of the party is a success for all, The governor rally round the street of Lafia city to appreciate those that supported his quest to rule the state for the second term.
While addressing the people at the roundabout in Lafia city attributed the dwindling of daily attacks in the North-East by the Boko Haram insurgents to the success of Retired General Muhammad Buhari at the recent election, The optimistic governor who was re-elected said General Buhari would end the insurgency in the country.
He applauded the maturity exhibited by the defeated governorship candidate of the state that loose out to him, Yusuf Agabi for conceding defeat, calling on other candidates to follow suit by accepting defeat, Yusuf Agabi called and congratulate me on phone.
There was a gridlock in Lafia,The state capital  following the mammoth crowd that turn out en masses to shower their unflinching support to his victory .
