The former governor of Benue state, George Akume has described the governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has a doyen of democratic governor in the history of governance in the north central.
Senator George Akume, The chairman of the occasion stated this at the grand rally of the All Progressives Congress calling on governor Al-Makura to re-contest in next year’s election.
Akume applauded governor Al-Makura for giving impetus to the rehabilitation and establishment of more schools, Other commitment, according to George Akume include the construction of up-to date asphalt roads.
Senator Akume averred that the governor is the best performing governor in the north central zone,”Al-Makura paid teachers as when due not like what is obtainable in Benue state now”.
He further said teachers in Nasarawa are wallowing in poverty, discomfort anguish, squalor and renunciation, adding that teachers were not paid their 7 months’ salary in my state.
The former governor called on his kinsmen in the state to support the current APC government in Nasarawa state, assuring the APC that Tiv vote is for Al-Makura.
The state chairman of the party, Philip Tatari Shekwor full of enthusiasm said the party will return the state without any fear of opposition, The PDP.
The Leader of governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura Taal project 2015, retired M.B Garba commended the resilience and doggedness of the incumbent governor for reviving higher institutions in the state.

The retired military officer in his speech said the called on the chief executive to re-contest is not an exercise in futility but rather to consolidate on his past achievement.
