Governor Al-Makura Commits Over N80 million To Rice Post Harvest Processing Company

Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has appealed to rice millers and dealers Association to ensure the proper utilization of the multi million Naira facilities handed over to the Association.

The governor stated this during the official handing over of rice post-harvest processing and marketing pilot project, a collaboration effort of federal, state and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

He said the motive of the collaborative effort was to enhance the vision of the state to boost rice production and processing aimed at widening competitiveness in a quality of domestic rice.

Umaru Tanko Al-Makura said the determination of the current regime would go a long way in boasting rice production considering the fertile soil, favorable weather and climate condition suitable for the cultivation of both arable and cash crops.

The Chief executive affirmed that the state has continued to canvass for partnership towards massive production of rice as a panacea for food value chain.

He promised that the incumbent All Progressives Congress led government in the state will continue to key into the agricultural policies of the Federal Government aimed at diversifying the nation economy towards industrialization of the country.
