Gov. Ganduje Tasks Individuals And Organizations Of Corporate Social Responsibility

His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has urged individuals and corporate bodies to pay more attention to Corporate Social Responsibility, especially by providing social services and infrastructural facilities for the citizenry.

He said realities of the moment have indicated that it is not possible for government to shoulder every responsibility alone taking into cognizance the fact that funds accruing to all levels of government have significantly decreased due to falling price of crude oil in the international market.

The governor made the call while receiving  brand new buses, several units of sewing machines as well as grinding machines donated by a former Senate leader, Alh. Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, to Bello Hayatu Gwarzo Girls Science Secondary School, at the Government House.

The governor stated that the government is grappling with several competing public demands, pointing out that assisting the government in providing certain services and infrastructure would go a long way in hastening the pace of development.

Governor Ganduje commended Senator Bello Gwarzo for his support to the critical sector of education, noting that besides single handedly constructing the school, the former senator went an extra mile to provide furniture, infrastructure and other needs of the school.

Presenting the donation of behalf of Senator Bello Hayatu, Alh. Bello Harka Gogori said the items donated are meant to facilitate good teaching and learning environment.

He explained that the former Senator decided to build the school to contribute to the educational of Kano, especially girl-child education, in view of its importance to general human development.

Meanwhile, Governor Ganduje also received a water tanker worth millions of Naira, donated to the state Fire Service, by FAS Agro Industrial Company Ltd.

He described the gesture as a shining example of “paying back to the community”, despite harsh market conditions, urging other corporate bodies and organizations to emulate.

The governor also commended the management of the company for its numerous interventions during recent fire outbreaks in the state, saying the interventions had helped tremendously in saving lives and property.

In his remarks earlier, the Managing Director, FAS Agro Industrial Company Ltd., Mr. Reda Fawaz explain that his company operates not just for profit but it also invests in the host community to demonstrate good corporate citizenship.
