Ajiya Ayuba

Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of Bauchi State on Thursday urged Nigerians, corporate bodies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and civil servants to generously support the families of the legionnaires.

The governor said this during the launching of the 2024 Emblem Appeal Fund at the state government house in Bauchi.

He said “I remember our fallen heroes’ sacrifices in wars and conflicts, crucial for our nation’s integrity and unity”

“I urge Nigerians, corporate bodies, NGOs, and civil servants to generously support the families of our legionnaires. Today, in launching the 2024 Emblem Appeal Fund, I remember our fallen heroes’ sacrifices in wars and conflicts, crucial for our nation’s integrity and unity”

“Last year, my administration provided a building for the legion’s office. We will continue supporting them, ensuring their activities run smoothly and their lives improve. The emblem symbolizes our Armed Forces’ growth and our nation’s political evolution, deserving our appreciation”

“I appeal to everyone, especially the affluent, to assist the legionnaires in any way possible. It’s our collective duty to care for their welfare.

“The state government is committed to involving them in government jobs and poverty alleviation programs, easing their burdens”

Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir also encouraged the Police Force to implement similar support for their retired personnel, adding that he contributed N1.5 million to the cause.
