Gov Al-Makura Decries High Level of Decay in Development Areas

This may not be the best moment for overseers and civil servants in Development Areas of Nasarawa state as Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura has decried the high level of inefficiency in the activities of some development areas in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the governor on media and Publicity Ahmed Tukur and made available to Journalists, he stated that state governor is irked over the level of decay in some of the development areas visited and promise to reposition them for better service delivery.

He said that government will henceforth take stock of their activities in line with government policies and promised to use carrot and stick to make the existing Development Areas functional.

He said government will not continue to spend resources without commiserate service that will improve efficiency in service delivery and promotion of good governance to the community.

The governor added that government will meet to review some of the activities of the development areas and make recommendations for further action that will create the enabling environment for improvement in the discharge of the duties.

Al-Makura explained that his administration is ever ready to provide pragmatic approach to service delivery to ensure good governance and good leadership.
