Gombe Police Arrests 67 Political Thugs By Kalshingi H Jedidah

Police in Gombe said it has arrested 67 suspects in connection to political thuggery in the just concluded general elections in the state.
Speaking to journalists in Gombe, the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Fwaje Attajiri stated that, the police have arrested the suspects on charges of political criminal offence. According to him, the police have recovered dangerous weapons from the suspects including cutlasses, knives, long sticks and Charms.
He said, over 20 cases were recorded in connection to the election violence in the state, and that investigations on the matter were currently ongoing after which the suspects would be charged to court to face the full wrath of law.
The police has also paraded four suspects engaged in homosexuality, and according to the  Police scribe, the suspects were engaged in a crime against nature and that, the police would not allow such offences in the state. Similarly, a 45 year old man was also paraded along with the suspects for raping a 13 year old girl at Anguwan-Idi quarters in Gombe metropolis.
The Police have also, disclosed that, it has recently recorded five other cases of armed robbery in which it has arrested eight suspects and recovered dangerous weapons from the suspects. Some of the recovered arms according to the police include AK 47, locally made pistols, arrows, bows, and others. The armed robbery suspects were said to have already been charged to court.
The police called on the people in the state to remain calm, and law abiding, urging the people to always give information of any suspicious persons or activities within their communities. Even as he promised that, the police would not relent in her effort to protect the lives and properties of the people as well as maintaining law and order, in the state.
