GOC Controlling 3Div Is For Easy Resources Management-General Irabor

Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabo has disclosed that the General Officer Controlling Rukubu Barrack and Operation Safe Haven was merged together for easy management of resources, the security apparatus in Plateau and environs, not religious reason but the competency of the GOC.

He warned Nigerians against the backdrop of self-defense which he condemned it that  everyone cut in the webs of the act shall be punished in accordance with the law of this country.

Irabor advised those connecting Miango attack complicity of the general to stop attaching sentiment to every situation.

He explained further where people resorted to self-defense themselves, they’re allowed to use anything against  external attackers, but warn Nigerian against carrying guns to commit all manner of crimes against the law.

In an interactive session with Journalists at the STF headquarters, Irabor said the military has no business deploy as a special task force if they can’t perform their function of safeguarding lives and properties.

He promised Nigerian of military readiness to fish out criminal elements within the forced causing discord and promoting religious and tribal sentiment.

LOE Irabor charged media practitioners on factual and responsible news reportage that will foster peaceful coexistence especially in Plateau State.

General Irabor codenamed the incessant attacks and loss of lives where he emphasized that anyone who uses religious shall be punished in accordance with the law of the land.

General Irabo disclosed  that his visit the Governor of Plateau State, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong, and to the scene of the   Miango in Bassa and other areas of Jos North LGA  affected by the unfortunate attacks leading to loss of lives and property, for an assessment of the areas.

 He stressed that his visit to Jos was to prevent further escalate current military efforts to ensure incremental peace in Plateau, urging citizens and stakeholders to give useful information to security agencies which will lead to the arrest of perpetrators of acts of criminality in the state.

General Irabo pointed out that it was his wish that soldiers returned to their barracks and for life to return to how peaceful in this serene environment because Plateau State was known to be in the 80s and 90s which attracted tourists from far and near, but for the current peace efforts which required military presence.

 

He stressed that without peace, no business can strive here or human activities will grow under the present upheaval we should   endeavor to prosper or succeed, as he calling on all citizens to give peace a chance.
