A former commissioner to the immediate past governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isah Yuguda has advised governor mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar not to claim credit on projects executed by his predecessor.
Alhaji Salisu Barau,who is former commissioner for information under Yuguda gave the advice while speaking to journalists in Bauchi after the postponement of president Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state.
He said that some of the projects billed to be commissioned by the president during the visit were executed by the former governor, Mallam Isah Yuguda but was allegedly being claimed by the APC led government in the state as part of the projects executed by governor Abubakar’s administration.
The former commissioner who is also the spokesperson to Yuguda, Alhaji Salisu Ahmed Barau said that some of the projects include the Housing Estate along Maiduguri road and the Specialist Hospital which he said were executed by the Yuguda administration which he said the state governor is planning to showcase to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The Housing Estate and the State Specialist Hospital that President Buhari was schedule to commission during his visit which was later cancelled, all the projects were 100 percent completed by Yuguda before leaving office, Governor Abubakar is trying to take the glory for projects he did not execute,” he said.
He informed that the Housing Estate was executed by Yuguda through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement and were completed except the asphalting of the road networks within the estate.
He therefore challenged Governor Abubakar to initiate and execute his projects and avoid claiming those executed by others.
“It baffled former Governor Isa Yuguda when he heard on the radio that the Preident will also commission the state Specialist Hospital. This hospital was completed and commissioned by then President Goodluck Jonathan, I don’t know what they meant by it will be commissioned by President Buhari.
