Fulani leaders move to strengthen peace with farmers in Plateau

cattle-breeders-body-miyetti-allah-elects-new-national-officersThe Miyyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Plateau State  has disclosed that they have  commenced sensitizing their members on the need to interact and live in peace with farmers and other host communities.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of MACBAN in Plateau State,  Ardo Idris Gidado who address newsmen yesterday in Jos, said that peace is the foundation of every develop society and without it no meaningful development can be achieve, and the exercise is aimed at strengthening peace with farmers in the state.

He said that Fulani community in the state are ready to collaborate with farmers and other ethnic groups in the state to promote peace and end the problems of cattle rustling, saying,”The new leadership has gone round the 17 LGAs in the state to hear the challenges confronting its members and used the opportunity and sensitized them on the need live in peace with farmers and other members of their host community.

We educate our members on the need to embrace peace, report any breach of peace to constituted authority and stick to their business peacefully”.

Gidado said,”Fulani community in Plateau State is ready for peace and dialogue with our Berom community and all other ethnic nationality in the state in  resolving the protracted crisis between Fulanis and farmers in the state. We must work together in peace and harmony to achieve the desire peace”.

Gidado who also commended Governor Simon Lalong for initiating  dialogue committee between Fulani and Berom,said, “We believe that the action of Governor Lalong was a good  attention to bring peace and harmony in the state.

We promised to give our maximum cooperation to the committee to succeed and for permanent peace to rein in our state and the country”.

He added that MACBAN is still strong and united, adding, “We are not divided or weak as been alleged by some people. The National President, Alhaji Muhammadu Kirowa Ardo Zuru has gone round the 36 states to hear the problems associated with Fulani and is working toward strengthening the unity of Fulani in the country.

He appealed to all Nigerians to cultivate the culture of praying for the new administration in states and the federation for God guidance and fervently pray for the return of permanent peace across the country.
