Four Jigawa Law Makers Honored With Merit Award For Supporting People With Disability

Four members of the  Jigawa State House Of Assembly were honored by persons living with disability in Jigawa, the members were honored base on the support and assistance they gave to people living with disability.

Alhaji Ibrahim Raba Kaya who is the Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs said the members were selected based on the report of assistance they offered to persons living with disability across the 27 local government areas of the state.

Rabakaya said Jigawa disable association will benefit N1.4 billion naira out of the 20 billion dollars assistance given to Jigawa state by the world bank.

Among the members honored by the disabled persons including Abubakar Sadiq Jallo member representing Hadejia constituency, Alhaji Haruna Dangyatin member representing  Miga, and the Clerk of the House Malam Musa Muhammed.

While giving a vote of thanks Malam Abubakar Sadiq Jallo said they will continue with their support to people with disabilities because it happened to them accidentally and it can happen to anybody among them.

He called on the government to provide all necessary support to people living with disabilities and provide all things accessible to them such as health, education, building, water, and all other sources of life.

According to the Secretary of the Jigawa State Women Affairs on cash transfer Malam Rahim Raba Kaya he said over 20 percent out of the Nigerians population are People Living With Disability.

He, therefore, called on the people to assist them especially the Jigawa State House Of Assembly by making laws that will protect their interests.
