Piqued over the unabated impasse that led to litigation in the Nasarawa State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, The PDP, The erstwhile Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, and his Justice ministry counterpart, Hon. Musa Elayo is to facilitate dialogue and reconciliation committee meant to reconcile aggrieved parties members in the State.
The committee comprises representatives from the two warring factions including Hon. Francis Orogu, Hon. Luka Zhekaba, Dr. Mike Omeri, and Sen. Suleiman Adokwe, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Adamu Oyanki, and Major General Nuhu Angbazo (rtd). Each party is expected to add two representatives, making it a five-member team.
Those on the list also include Governor Mutfwang’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Hon. Latep Dabang will serve as an advisory member.
The committee’s terms of reference include fostering an all-inclusive dialogue, promoting fairness, and honesty, and addressing contentious issues. To ensure a smooth process.
Mutfwang directed that all congresses and litigation be put on hold pending the committee’s outcome.
This development is a welcome step towards peace and unity in Nasarawa PDP.
The success of this initiative will strengthen the party’s prospects in future elections.
