Former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido, Sons To Spend Two Months In Prison

Former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido and his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha will be the guest of Kano Prison for two months following a Federal High Court Order.

The former Jigawa Governor and his two sons who were arraigned today by the EFCC for receiving N1.35 billion as kickbacks from a contractor will be reminded in Kano Prison Custody till September 28.

In Her ruling, Justice Evelyn Anyadike ordered that the ex-governor and his sons be kept in Kano Prison due to lack of available space at the EFCC detention facilities both in Abuja and Kano to accommodate them.

The Judge also rejected the appeal by the defense counsel, Effiong Effiong, SAN that the governor and his sons are kept at the EFCC custody, as she said the commission had said there are no sufficient detention facilities.
