Former Deputy Speaker Plateau Assembly, Hassan , Says APC Govt Bestowed Confidence To Restore Peace

The Member Representing JOS North, North Constituency in Plateau State House of Assembly, RT Hon Ibrahim Baba Hassan has expressed his sincere gratitude to the good people of JOS North for according the opportunity to serve them under the All Progressive Congress (APC) led administration.

Addressing his supporters at the Lomonde Hotel ,Tudun Wada on two years stewardship held for Town Hall meetings with Stakeholders of APC in JOS North Local Government on Friday.

He said, “I have always been conscious of what affect them and have always risen to the occasion whenever the need arise especially the contribution on the floor of the House since elected”.

Hon Hassan reiterated further that his deplorable roads network abandon by the immediate past regime prompted him to move a motion on adjournment on the scarcity of water in JOS North, North Constituency in angwan Rukuba ,Bauchi Road, Dilimi ,Rikkos and angwan Rogo which residents were force to trekked kilometers in search resulting to the dead of two persons on 02/02/2016.

Hassan lamented the long neglect of major federal and state roads within some parts of JOS North Local Government which is affecting business activities around Naraguta ,Fudawa ,Angwan Rogo ,Dutse Uku and others.

According to him ,fire accident razed down three residents along Bauchi road where he came to the aid of those victims of the inferno on 27/10/2016 with relief materials and still appealing to state Emergency Management Agency .

The member  commended, performance of management Committee stressing that as Chairman House committee on Local Government & Chieftaincy affairs during his oversight function to the seventeen Local Government councils he recorded tremendous development by the APC management committee chairmen .

One of achievements was to ensure that government end the 18 years paramount ruler of the Izere Nation in JOS North LGA were a substantive Agwom Izere was selected and coronated on the 23rd December, 2016,he added.

He disclosed ,two bills was presented before the floor on matter of public important, abill for a law to provide for the assessment and application of the personal income tax law on winners of all forms of lottery activities in Plateau State and second Establishments of a health insurance scheme for public workers .

Hon Ibrahim Hassan applauded, we are all aware that the Rescue administration inherited a state at the verge of bankruptcy; therefore, it is not intentional that Constituency projects have not been executed in the last two years.

He maintained, the eighth Assembly in collaboration with the Executive arm of government to improve the capacity of the state in its desire for increased internally generated revenue.

Hassan revealed that 5 classrooms which was burnt down was reconstructed including offices in Islamiya primary school and four hand pump boreholes at Ibrahim Katsina Ward ,Rilko ,Yan Trailer and Babale respectively.

He stressed that a clinic undergoing construction at 70% completion at Yan Itace in Ibrahim Katsina Ward; I also construct a world Health standard specification clinic at NEPA, Zaria Road and have reached 69% completion.

In Gwash and Fudawa communities to link them with national grid, electrification program is ongoing and 50 students have been sponsored Muftawul Khair primary and secondary school, Bauchi Road by providing free medical outreach with laptops in order to facilitate and ease their learning, adding the recruitment of youth into civil service and skills acquisition with vocational training towards empowerment of women and girls child.

The House Constituted ad-hoc committee on peace building which all communities were engages dialogue to end sectarian violence and abuse in Plateau State and its environs, he explained.

Meanwhile, the Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Peter Azi gave the functions of the legislature which include, law making, oversight and quality representation.

He said that the performance of the 8th Assembly under his leadership has done credibly well to effect change attract meaningful development to the state.

“We restore confidence after series crises that rock the state where several lost their lives ,homes and properties which important bills such as: bill for peace building agency, public procurement ,for effective revenue generation, for Local Government law and Plateau State Electoral Commission ,PLASIEC “, he noted .
