Female Journalist,  Martina Kure Reveals Why Women Fear Politics, Join Race For Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency

A renowned  Female Journalist in Plateau state, the Former Director of the Nigerian Institute for Journalism, NIJ, Northern Nigeria, Mrs. Martina Hajara Kure has revealed that the fear of women participation in politics is the physical engagement, resources, thuggery and they’ve concluded that it’s only a  better field and playing grounds for the menfolk.

 

Mrs. Kure made this disclosure during her wider consultation with the stakeholders and delegates indicating interest in vying for Jos North. Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau state in Jos.

 

She said the poor participation of the Nigerian woman is due to the fear and cultural and economic contributions to the growth of democracy.

 

Mr. Hajara employed women to the outcome and demonstrates their interest in the elective positions and repositions the country dwindling economy and fight insecurity which has bedeviled our peaceful nation.

 

She said being a journalist, I have reported politics, I have analysis outside practice, I have realized that there is a vacuum created somehow it has been layout participated in politics

 

 

Mrs. Kure maintained that what attracted her to join politics is because poor participation of women in politics the fear of the unknown. Fear of not succeeding and hinder the Nigerian woman in politics.

 

She stressed, that this is her second time eyeing time she is gunning for the same position, I attempted the same position in 2019 but I could not make it and now this is a by-election to replace our late member Hon Haruna Maitala I believe that I will succeed.

 

According to her that one of the major problems of insecurity in Nigeria is unemployment, which most of the youth are roaming the streets in search of white cola job which is not there, so Mrs. Martina Kure lamented that given her this opportunity she is going to present here blueprint on how to address youth restiveness in Nigeria.

 

Mrs. Martina Hajara described the delegates as the voice of their people where she canvas that they should vote wisely and vote for her as a mother who gave compassion to every of her child, as a mother, I’m willing to introduce legislation that can improve the wellbeing of their and vulnerable people living with disabilities in Jos North/Bassa federal constituency.

 

She disclosed that the country has been bedeviled with so many insecurity challenges which the one that has been taken care of by governor Simon Lalong is the division amongst us on religious diversity.

 

She reiterated that farmers’, herders’ conflicts in Nigeria are very particular, each of them has issues that can be addressed on the round table when we dialogue we are going to find a solution to the lingering crises between herders and farmers in Nigeria.

 

However, the journalist turned politician raised alarm over the rate of insecurity and killings in Nigeria by calling on Nigeria to put a mechanism in place to prevent the incessant attacks and massacre of women and children, he added.
