Federal Polytechnic Kazaure, Jigawa Is Facing Many Challenges -Rector

253075_442410742462684_2064625105_nAs Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state expressed concern over the failure of the educational sector in the state, the Rector of the Federal Poly Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic Dr Kabir Ibrahim Matazu has decried the non patronage of programmes offered by the Polytechnic by Jigawa students.

Among the challenges facing the polytechnic are inadequate water supply, as well as provision of road network within the school promises and provision of perimeter wall fencing and provision of students hostel among others.

The management of the school solicited the support of the Jigawa state government toward solving the problem assuring that the polytechnic will remain loyal and would continue to cement the cordial relationship that has been existed over the years between the college and the government of the state.

He thanked the past government of Sule Lamido for donation of land and infrastructure to the school when the school was established in 2007 with donation of 550kva generator.

The college is purely technical and vocational education with emphasis on its programmes that would enable the students to become self reliance.

He further added that the school has a total of 428 academic and non academic staff with the enrollment of 2334 students in 2014 to 2015 with 60% of the students made up of Jigawa state indigenes.

Explaining further he said that the college has introduce new courses on animal health production, building technology, Mechatronics Engineering , Business and Public Administration, Office Technology Management, Hotel Management, Welding and Fabrication, Land Survey and Geo informatics, others are Mass Communication and Nutrition and Dietetics.
