  • To Take Over As Emir Of Gummi

Information reaching universalreporters.Info revealed the FCT Chief Judge Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi has resigned.
As gathered by universalreporters that he has forwarded his letter of resignation to the National Judicial Council, NJC as well as the Federal Judicial Committee, FJC even it was also gathered that the Judge has also forwarded his letter of voluntary retirement to President Goodluck Jonathan.
It will be recall that the FCT Chief Judge has been under pressure especially after being queried by the NJC based on a petition brought against him following an alleged abuse of Judicial Process leveled against him by the petitioners.

Aside this, there were other series of petitions against him, however the retired CJ has also been appointed the Emir of Gummi in Zamfara State.  His appointment was to replace late Emir, Alhaji Aliyu Abara who died last Wednesday.
A profile of Gummi shows that he was born in Talatan Mafara in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State in 1950 and he was appointed a judge of the FCT High Court in 1988. He became the Chief Judge and Chairman of the FCT Judicial Service Committee in 2004.
