Fayose, Others Suspension Long Overdue-Fabiyi

A leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi has commended the leadership of the party for the suspension of some senior members of the party.

A press statement signed by Fabiyi on Friday said that “the suspension of Ayo Fayose, Anyim, and others did not come as a surprise; it was long overdue.”

It will be recalled that the National Executive Committee of the PDP had issued a suspension order on the former Senate President, Anyim Pious Anyim, and former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose for anti-party activities.

According to Fabiyi, “the PDP is a party with large heart, and imbued with huge capacity for tolerance and that is why some members took the party for granted and do many things with impunity.”

Continuing, the party stalwart from Ogun State lampooned those suspended for “seeing themselves as larger than the party.”

“Genuine party members should celebrate the courage of the party for wielding the big stick at this time.

“Fayose and others have become recalcitrant and pain in the neck of the party, they are arrogant and brazenly show their disrespect and disdain to the party,” Fabiyi said.

While commending the leadership of the party for taking the decision, Fabiyi calls on the PDP leadership,  “to without further delay or hesitation suspend characters like Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom and all members of the so-called G5 group for obvious anti-party activities.”

Fabiyi warned that refusal or failure to do this, will not only send the wrong message and signal to other loyal, dedicated, and responsible party members but will also serve as a catalyst to those who may want to tow the same line.

“No one is bigger than the party, for whatever it is worth, the supremacy of the party must be in force forthwith.

“All this will be part of the party’s mission to reinvent and reorganize itself,” Fabiyi noted.
