Says It will Resist The Conspiracy To Dispose Nasarawa People of Inherited Assets by Al-Makura-Nasarawa PDP
The People’s Democratic Party in Nasarawa State has resisted the attempt by governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to dispose of some inherited assets of Nasarawa State.
The PDP in a communique at the end of the state executive meeting held at the party headquarters in Lafia called on traditional rulers to prevail in the governor to stop the process for the best interest of the state.
Nasarawa PDP gave a sound warning to people, commercial banks having interest on the properties to forget or risked their resource.
In a fifteen page communique said Nasarawa State is under siege by cabals that did mean well to the state.
The party accused the chief executive, the state commissioner of finance and the acting Managing Director of Nasarawa Investment and Property Development Company (NIPDC) for liquidating the company.
“It seems nobody has taken time to see the danger and economic meltdown of the proposed action of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura because nobody has raised an issue on the same even though it has been on the news and no longer hidden matter”.
The people of Nasarawa State should demand answers to the following questions from Umaru Tanko Al-Makura regards these properties.
“The first reason why he advanced for wanting to dispose of these properties is Dilapidation and Deteriorating condition of the building while the second reason following on the heels of the first is the high cost of maintenance of the buildings and payment of municipal taxes”.
“The governor MUST explain how these buildings which he claimed were incurring high cost in maintenance will at the same time fall into Dilapidation and Deteriorating State”.
Why will the government not pay tax over its property when the same government is taxing citizens on theirs.
Why was the amount of taxes paid on these buildings not disclosed?
Why did the cost, so far incurred in the maintenance of these buildings not disclosed
