Despite the peace talks organized by the Nasarawa State Governor to forestall everlasting peace in Toto Local Government between Egburra and Bassa communities, universalreportersng.com findings reveal that the peace talk has hit brick wall as a headmaster of Central Primary School, Ugya of Egburra extraction Hassan Yusuf was alleged to have been seen with soldier’s camouflage and sophisticated weapon.

 

The National Secretary Bassa Cultural and Development Union, Gwatana Dogwo hinted this during a press conference held at Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

 

Is no longer news that Nasarawa State like the then president, Olusegun Obasanjo to end the unabated war in Toto had separate meetings between Egburra and Bassa communities that hit bricks wall.

 

The governor in a quest to end the lingering skirmishes in Toto had separate meetings with the two warring communities in Umuaisha and Abuja respectively.

 

Al-Makura who visited Umaisha, a settlement populated by Egburra pleaded with them to live as brothers and sisters, he stated when addressing Egburra at the palace of Ohimege Opanda shortly after he traveled for Lesser Hajj.

 

The holistic effort of the state government to compensate any of the warring communities that embrace inter marriage was seriously resisted by the Egburra.

 

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura said inter marriage would be a panacea to bring back total peace to the land.
