Ex-Council Boss, Jock Alamba Blames Increasing Rate Of Crime, Banditry, and Insurgency To Injustice, Political Hatred
Yakubu Busari
The former Chairman of Barkin Ladi and an All Progressives Congress, APC, stalwart, Hon Jock Alamba has blamed the increasing rates of crime, insurgency, banditry being experienced in the country to injustice and political hatred across the political space.
Speaking to our correspondent at his Jos, residence, Alamba condemned the genocide where his entire households were killed in one day by suspected herders while sleeping in Gashik district of B/Ladi of Plateau state.
On the arrest of the publisher of the “Sahara Reporter online newspaper “over his calls for a revolution in Nigeria, the (APC) National leader on the plateau condemned the call by the publisher Mr. Sowere and supported his arrest to give room for a thorough investigation to ascertain if there are any international connections.
“Starting from the issue of revolution, I want to point out within my understanding that it’s not a welcome development but a frightening development signal looking back at the history of our development as nation that things have not been well with us as a country otherwise there wouldn’t be calling for revolution “,Hon Jock Alamba explained.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on the government especially president Buhari to look at this threat of “Revolution “critically so as to ensure that if it means some people are associating themselves with Boko Haram and other insurgents in the country is an evidence that Boko Haram is getting stronger daily, direct or indirectly that herdsmen and other insecurity most fight with more greater fervent efforts and serious commitment, otherwise what we see as joke could be a Waterloo. “
On the arrest of the publisher Sowore,
Jock Alamba said maybe he must have gone beyond the constitutional boundary.
“Maybe he must have gone beyond certain pronouncements or they have even started threatening the cooperate existence of Nigeria as a nation the (DSS) knows better which led to his detention. “
He urged Nigeria to give them (DSS) their maximum support for them to achieve the needed result unless we as a people have contrary information.
Hon. Jock Alamba, however, attributed the poor performance of President Buhari to constant detractors who may not want him to achieve or deliver the dividends of democracy.
“Efforts upon Efforts have been made even before the 2015 general election to ensure that Buhari and the(APC)do not see the light of the day, there is this earlier determination that (PDP) will rule the country Nigeria for (60) years”.
“Remember insecurity was already in existence before the coming of President Buhari as president, Boko Haram was in place, although he promised to solve the problem of insecurity, other forces are working against achieving his promises. “
“This is because Buhari and this administration have not been left alone, there is a lot of instigation from all corners to encourage and empower these insurgents groups to ensure that this government is frustrated or brought down”.
According to him, “I am still in a shocking mood now when some Fulani invaded my ancestral home killings virtually every living creature.
He called on Plateau people to give the Government of Rt.Hon.Bako Lalong and the federal minister-designate Dame Pauline Tallen the maximum support for them to succeed in the delivery of dividends of democracy.
He promised further that the pedigree of the minister can’t be in doubt because she was once one time counselor, commissioner, deputy governor, minister and minister for the second time running.
The National welfare secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) and founding member of (APC) in Plateau State, Hon. Jock Alamba, make this passionate appeal.
Alamba said the support of governor Bako lalong and the minister Dame Pauline Tallen is imperative because power comes from God, and “He” gives it to whoever he so choose to at a particular point in time.
Alamba said “Pauline Tallen to my understanding was honest too, there are people who did not possess certain qualities as minister over time, and in some of them she had performed creditably, she has the pedigree to be a minister there is no doubt about that. “
He maintained “As a believer, we always believe that her coming on board is the act of God and all the citizens of plateau state should shun malice and support Pauline Tallen as a minister and governor Simon Bako lalong for them to achieve the best in governance. “
He said governor lalong not constituting his cabinet after over four months after the general election, is likely be the situation all the time what happened at a particular period in time.
Jock noted that the political development in around plateau state might be responsible or serious factor before the constitution of his cabinet so they are met for the dividend of democracy so is not constituting cabinet that matter, but the competent and proper constitutions of cabinet that matters and proper constitution of those that would deliver the dividends of democracy.
“l am believing that because of the political situation on the plateau, the government is taken his time to see that he uses his last opportunity as governor of plateau state I am sure that he might be learning from the past “, he added.
