Ex-AGF Aondoakaa Dumps APC

Michael Aondoakaa, a former attorney-general of the federation has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Aondoakaa, who served as AGF between 2007 and 2010, said his resignation took effect from immediately, following “careful reflection and wide consultations” with family, political associates and supporters.

In a statement, he said his resignation from the APC took effect from March 28.

He explained that “prevailing circumstances” informed his decision, noting that the move was taken in the overall interest of his people and democratic values.

The statement reads, “I wish to express my profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the visionary leadership he has continued to provide for our nation, as well as for the support and attention Benue State has enjoyed under his administration. I assure him of my continued loyalty to his Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Furthermore, I deeply appreciate George Akume, the secretary to the government of the federation for the quality leadership he has provided to the APC family in Benue State.

“I acknowledge his role in shaping the political landscape of our dear state and assure him of my enduring respect.

“Finally, I wish to sincerely appreciate the leadership and members of the party in Ushongo Local Government Area, the entire Benue state and beyond for the cooperation and support extended to me over the years.

“The relationships built and experiences gathered remain invaluable.”

The former minister expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and support to Benue State, pledging continued loyalty to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Aondoakaa urged his supporters to remain calm and peaceful, assuring that a new political direction aimed at repositioning Benue State would be unveiled in due course.
