Eschewed Bitterness Governor Al-Makura Tells People Leaving At Border Towns

Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has warned people of the State to eschew violence especially those leaving at the border towns of Benue State.

The governor disclosed this during the distribution of 35 Hilux to security operatives at the Government House, Lafia.the governor attributed the unabated herders and farmers clashes to hate speeches circulated by people he identified as bad blood.

Umaru Tanko Al-Makura says nothing escalate crisis like inflammatory statement or utterances inimical to ignite upheaval amongst the citizenry.

The chief executive opined that security agent’s has made a handful arrest of people fermenting trouble in the State.

“Our administration is an administration that did not believe in blame game but to put the wrong right”.

The governor affirmed that the 35 Hilux vans would help in strengthening security operations especially in the crisis stricken Local Governments of Awe,Keana, Obi,Doma and Lafia.

“Besides that Nasarawa State government also provided relief materials as well provide security to the existing Internally Displaced Persons camps”.

He however said the preoccupation of every responsible government is to ensure that the security of lives and properties of the citizenry remained her cardinal objective.

The governor commended the holistic effort of Nigeria Army and the Police in curbing the upheavals that enveloped Southern part of the State.

Al-Makura appreciate the proactive measures taken by President Muhammadu Buhari to forestall normalcy to the crisis stricken zone through the deployment of soldiers avert further Fulani/Farmers skirmishes.

The asserted that the State government has laid a solid fortress to protect the lives and properties of it citizenry by providing a befitting office accommodation to Nigeria Army by donating N300m to provide more accomodation to the new Army Barrack in Doma.

Also said the State government has provided an enabling atmosphere for Nigeria Security And Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC),saying the beffiting office was at 90 percent completion.

He said the State government also provided office accommodation to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

Other effort, according to governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to strengthen security operations includes the provision of a befitting Army recruitment office in the State and office accommodation for 150 officers and Men of Nigeria Air Force.

The Nigeria Police were given 22 Hilux vans, stating 5 would be given 5 Area Commands while every Local Government were allocated to the 13 Councils each.

He allocated 2 Hilux to Nigeria Army, 1 to Nigeria Air Force,2 to Department of State Security, 2 to NSCDC, 2 to Nigeria Prison.

The Commissioner of Police, Bello Ahmed commended the State government for partnership.

Saying is a silent security revolution in Nasarawa State under governor Al-Makura.

He assured the State of the judicious use of the vehicles allocated to them.

The vehicles were procured through the collaborative effort of State and Local Government.
