The immediate past ambassador to Poland, Amb.Samuel Jimba has been honored as the ambassador of the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Nasarawa state chapter, the chairman of the chapel ,Suleiman Abubakar Lakaci gave the hint when members of the chapel paid a courtesy call on the media friendly ex-envoy.

Abubakar says the nomination of Samuel Jimba as correspondents’ chapel ambassador became necessary due to his immense contributions when he served as a Senior Special Assistant on communication, he listed some of the positions he held to include ex-webmaster, permanent secretary ministry of Information.

He described the former ambassador as a man with impeccable record when he served in the successive administration in the state, saying the relationship remains cordial.

Ambassador Jimba while responding applauded the correspondents’ chapel for associating with him even during the time he left office, as he expressed joy for the parley with the members whom he identified as his immediate constituency.

Jimba expressed the gesture accorded him, saying the visit will stem the tide of cordial relationship that exist between the correspondents’ chapel and his person, as he confided that the Journalist in Nasarawa state make him who he was.

“I became Ambassador because of the positive publicity you accord me when i needed the press most, the entire state rejected my nomination as ambassador to Poland but the Journalist in Nasarawa state stood firm behind me”.

Adding that the few Journalists paid to write negative report against his person approach him for clarification, he says the work of a Journalist is to tell the truth, describing the Journalism profession as a herculean task and he said nobody can do without the press.

The correspondents’ chapel The immediate past Nigerian ambassador to Poland, Amb.Samuel Jimba commended the role by Journalist in Nasarawa state, as he affirmed that the press play a vital role in the development of every nation, The media friendly Jimba who served in various ramification before his appointment to Poland described the press as a veritable tool in uniting the country.

The ex- ambassador gave the indication when members of the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists paid him a courtesy call at his abode in Akwanga local government after serving successfully his four years in office.

He urged the press to keep the flag flying, the former ambassador pray for the nation, saying the present economic recession is not permanent, Jimba said he will be committed to the chapel if the need arises.

The national vice President zone D, Chief Wilson Bako commended Samuel Jimba for carrying everybody along when he held sway as the ex-SSA in the state.

The national vice President opined that the union only associates itself with people of reputable background not failure; Chief Bako applauded Samuel Bako for been a good representation of the state.

“We don’t associate ourselves with incompetent people that hold an exalted positions but failed their people because of those appointees are shear disgrace while were chased out of office”.

Jimba prayed for the reposed of two members of the correspondents’ chapel, Jonny Danjuma of ” The nation newspaper and Tehember Dzhomon of “The Road” newspaper respectively
