Encroachment of School Land: Doma IMC Chairman Commend Doma Progressive Forum

The Interim Management Committee chairman of Doma local government, John Ogah has commended the position of Doma Progressive Forum for taken bold step in curbing the encroachment of access road belonging to two public schools by the former governor of Nasarawa state, Aliyu Akwe Doma.

The chairman while briefing Journalists at the council secretariat said he was in receipt of a petition by the forum, commending the concerted approach of the youth for standing firm for the community.

The IMC chairman said the council and the traditional ruler of the council would look inward towards resolving the impasses amicably, Honorable Ogah appealed to Doma youth to remain calm as consultation is ongoing.

“As the headship of this council I will do everything possible to make peace reign in our community”

Doma Youth Progressive Forum at the end of her end of year meeting yesterday held in Doma Central Primary School resolved to meet the council chairman to take a position on the encroachment of roads leading to GSS Doma North and GSS Arumangye all at the suburb of Doma community which would be the second round of meeting with the chief security officer.

Members expressed displeasure and disappointment over the unabated trespassing of access road leading to two schools in the community, calling on critical stakeholders in Doma to join hands to end the gory situation perpetrated by the erstwhile governor.

“We shouldn’t allow such ugly situation to repeat itself as the way he submerged the town with gully erosion following the cutting down of trees”.

“Imagine a highly placed personality causing havoc to a community”, Members resolved that the council chairman, Honorable John Ogah should use his exalted seat to stop the ongoing fencing of the access road to the two public schools as the Forum scheduled Wednesday next week to take a stand.

In another development, Ogah has called on Christians in Doma to shun the use of canister during this yuletide as he said the council is working alongside with security outfit to ensure peaceful Christmas celebration.
