Dear Readers, For some few months now, I have been silence about the happenings in Nasarawa State despite the fact that all is not well in our dear state.

We are all aware that slowly but surely the year 2015 is coming to an end in the next few weeks but our Governor is yet to fulfilled part of his 2015 promise made on Tuesday, 22nd September, 2015 during the Nigeria Labour Congress, Nasarawa State chapter Summit held in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State.

Please hear Governor Al-Makura

“Nasarawa State government said it would employ about 1,500 workers into the service of the state before the end of 2015 in an effort to curtail the rate of unemployment experienced in the state.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura stated this yesterday at the maiden occasion of Nasarawa State Labour Summit held in Lafia, the state capital”.

Immediately when I read it on an online platform, I categorically wrote a rejoinder as an informed and intellectually minded person in the state but the APC e-rats disagreed with me that I belong to the opposition party, now I am vindicated.

As a matter of fact, I have known Governor Al-Makura for some years now and I can state categorically without fear or favour that he has nothing good in stock for Nasarawa State youth, as such, nobody should be expecting any jobs from him.

Therefore, if there’s any name that Al-Makura should be called now then that name is “TOTAL FAILURE”, I am really pained at this point in time because over 7000 workers has been sacked from the Nasarawa State workforce without due process and no any replacement yet from the government of the State.

As I write, I am an unemployed youth in the state and there’s no any provision from any quota in Nasarawa State that Al-Makura is ready to employ young people’s in the State, for how long shall we continue to be deceived by someone like Al-Makura that got to the Nasarawa State Government House on a plater of gold, it is high time the APC leadership in the State called Al-Makura to order before he turned our state to BANANA REPUBLIC.

Though, some of us are not waiting to be employed by Nasarawa State Government under the leadership of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura because we are employers of labour but we can not keep mute while some of our brothers and sisters are dying of hungers and lack of jobs in the State based on the fact that the Government has lost focus.

Consequently upon the foregoing, to say Al-Makura has nothing more to offer to the good people’s of Nasarawa State is an understatement if not how would one described situation where the Governor is about to flag-off the construction of airport in Nasarawa State that’s not business oriented but depend ONLY on salaries. We can not continue to keep quiet while things are not moving in the right direction.

On this note, we are calling on the Government of Nasarawa State under the leadership of Al-Mkura to as a matter of urgency provide the 1500 jobs before the end of the year 2015 or else we shall be storming the street of Nasarawa State to protest against the impunity of Al-Makura.

This Too Shall Pass, Nothing More, Nothing Less.
