As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holds its National convention on Saturday, December 9,2017, one name that has been very conspicuous in the race for a National office in the party, is Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem, who is an aspirant for the office of the PDP National Legal Adviser.
Enoidem, is a former commissioner, who has been consistent in the political space of Akwa Ibom, over the years.
His aspiration as a Legal Adviser in PDP, has been received with joy, even as the Akwa Ibom Governor had declared an unflinching support to Enoidem’s ambition.
A lawyer, with over twenty years experience in the bar, and a former law Lecturer at the University of Uyo, Enoidem stands out as a shining amour for the office.
In spite of several media attacks that has characterized his person from political opponents lately, Emmanuel Enoidem has remained unperturbed and resolute in going about his business.
Like a cat with nine lives, the former commissioner understands the game of politics like a tennis player will understand his balls. In my opinion, no one is better fitted for such a National office, like an illustrious son of Akwa Ibom, like Enoidem.
Not many will share same political views, but understandably, Enoidem had used his position as a commissioner to rewrite the politics in his native Etim Ekpo, and brought empowerment to the door steps of the commoners in his Federal Constituency.
Today is not a day to write about the lots he has done for people, but to remind every delegate to the PDP National Convention, that Akwa Ibom state is solidly behind Enoidem. It is a thing of honour and pride to the Akwa Ibom people, that our son will climb to the top echelon of a party like PDP.
You have at every given opportunity, defended the Akwa Ibom course. At this point, the ruling All Progressives Congress needs a viable opposition to help checkmate its excesses in governance. We are convinced that Enoidem has the wherewithal to provide this leadership traits and fill the vacuum currently bedeviling the Nigerian political space.
Irrespective of political affiliation, Enoidem’s aspiration as a Legal Adviser, should be supported by everyone who loves Akwa Ibom State. This is a period where we should bury our political differences, and look forward to a PAN Akwa Ibom, where the interest of the state will come before self.
Where political parties will be seen as a vehicle to one’s political destination, rather than an instrument to divide the state and youths.
It is my joy that history will be made in December 8, 2017.
As history beckons, Enoidem stands in the path of writing his name on the legacies of time. It is a day that we will all rejoice with him, and pray that God will grant him victory and the grace to pilot the office, and also stand to speak for Akwa Ibomites in National politics.
Silver and Gold I have none to give to Barrister Enoidem, but wholeheartedly, I want to reassure him, that the hearts and prayers of the Akwa Ibom people are with him.
Go and make history, we are proud of you.
