Eight Persons Killed, Many Injured As Gunmen Attack Nasarawa Village

Eight people lost their lives after gunmen attacked Sofiyo village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on Friday.

The incident also left many people injured, according to the State Police Command, which confirmed the incident to NAN.

Kennedy Idrisu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, said: “It is true that gunmen attacked and killed eight people in Sofiyo community of the locality.

“We have also mobilised our men to the scene of the attack to maintain law and order and to forestall further attacks.

“The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Gwagwalada.”

He restated the commitment of security operatives to ensure that peace reign in the state, and called on the residents to support the Police’s efforts by providing information to aid in the arrest of the attackers.

He also appealed to the residents not to take laws into their hands.
