Eid-El Maulud Celebration: IGP Greets All Muslims

  • Orders Police Formations to remain at alert

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, CFR, NPM, NPOM, mni,  on behalf of officers and men of the Force extend his hearty greetings to all Muslim faithful in Nigeria as they join their brothers and sisters across the globe in celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammed (Peace upon him) on 2nd January, 2015. He further urged all Muslim Umma to emulate the lifestyle of the Holy Prophet by being kind and accommodating to their neighbours and everyone they come across.
The IGP has ordered all Commands and Formations of the Force nationwide to remain at alert and ensure the security architecture put in place are improved upon to ensure adequate protection of life and property. They should also supervise the control of the flow of traffic and safety of commuters and all road users.
While acknowledging the hard work of officers and men as exhibited during the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year festivities, the IGP further directed all officers to be more professional in the course of discharging their duties so that the citizens can have a hitch-free holidays and Eid-el Maulud celebrations.
