Gov-JangThe former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, who is now a Senator may soon be the guest of the of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, this is as universalreporters247.com gathered from the Director Press of Affairs to the Governor, Mr. Emmanule Nanle that the anti-graft agency is at the moment in the state trying to complete investigation into the financial misappropriation of the past 8 years of Jang’s government while in office.

According to the Director Press, he said that past government misappropriated the resources meant for the development of the state, but disclosed that there are committees on ground working hand in hand with the security agencies and the anti-graft agency to bring out the details of financial irregularities.

Meanwhile, this medium learnt that the recently sacked 17 local government council chairmen in Plateau state are currently on the run as Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) stormed the state based on allegations of several financial misappropriations of the respective councils during their tenure in office.

According to this medium’s finding, this is also followed by the Audit of the local government councils conducted during the Jang administration which revealed the massive looting of the council chairmen.

The present administration was baffled by the high level of corruption in the 3rd tier of government when it was tabled before Governor Simon Lalong.

It was gathered that some sacked chairmen have abandoned their family for the fear of being arrested by the EFCC.

However, the information available revealed that in one of the local government area, the money spent on entertainment alone by the council chairman on his own entertainment from January to December gulped over N168 million, while the council’s chairman, collected over N25 million for payment of he and other guests of the council who lodged in the chairman’s own hotel in which all was paid by the local government.
