EFCC Arrests Retired Deputy Superintendent Of Two Others For Producing Fake Currencies In Nasarawa

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that its operatives have arrested a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, Idris Yusuf and two others identified as Hassan Abubakar and Ibrahim Yusuf, in Nasarawa State for currency counterfeiting.

According to a statement issued by the anti-graft agency on Friday January 20, 2023, the three suspected currency counterfeiting syndicates were arrested on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in New Nyanya, Nasarawa State, following intelligence obtained on their suspicious activities.

The statement read, “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a suspected currency counterfeiting syndicate involving a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Idris Yusuf, alongside Hassan Abubakar and Ibrahim Yusuf.

“The trio were arrested on Thursday, January 12, 2023 in New Nyanya, Nasarawa State, following intelligence obtained on their suspicious counterfeiting activities.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
