The chairman of Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) Mr Peter Dalyop has appeared in court to furnished the court the details of the 24th February,2014 Local Government elections.
At the suit filed by Hon. Dan Dul of Democratic People Party before Justice Daniel Lonji of the Plateau State High Court N0. 8 Bukuru, for his refusal to obey the order of the local government election appeal tribunal which declared Hon. Dan Dull of the Democratic People Party (DPP) winner of Langtang north council election held on the 25th of February this year.
After listening to the argument of the counsel to PLASIEC and Hon. Dull, Justice Daniel Longji then adjourned the motion for committal of contempt of court by the PLASIEC chairman to February 12 2015.
Hon. Daniel Dull of the DPP had dragged the PLASIEC chairman to the state high court for his failure to obey the order of the appellant court which ruled that the honourable was the winner of the February 25th LG election and so should be issued certificate of return by PLASIEC and subsequently be sworn into office by the state government.
“You would recall that two separate judgment were awarded on the same matter which kept dragged a serious political hatred”.
Our correspondent gathered some jurists were bribe at the appellant tribunal to rule in favour of DPP candidate to cause unnecessary political battle.
