Don’t Pay Baba Suwe N 25 Million, Court Of Appeal Advised NDLEA

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos today upturned an earlier ruling by a Lagos High Court, which  requested that the National Drug Law enforcement Agency, NDLEA pay the sum of N25 million to Lagos Comedian and Actor Babatunde Omidina AKA Baba Suwe as compensatory damages over long-drawn-out custody by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in 2012.

Delivering the judgement the Court of Appeal further reaffirmed the power and right of the NDLEA as to scrutinize, capture, keep in custody and also put on trial drug suspects so long as the agency is acting within the law the set it up.

Meanwhile the Appeal Court also said that the agency has never violated on Baba Suwe’s right as it said that the orders was sought and got from the Federal High Court to detain after he was captured by the agency on alleged drug ingestion.

Meanwhile Baba Suwe’s lawyer Bamidele Aturu has said that they will appeal the ruling of the case.
