DG Suleiman Campaign, Nasarawa NUJ Chairman, Head of News Precious F.M Called On Politicians To Emulate Defeated Candidate

Critical stakeholders in the media industry in Nasarawa State has called upon politicians in the country to emulate the sportsmanship exhibited by the defeated chairmanship aspirant of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa State Council in last week election, Comrade Suleiman Abubakar

 

The Director General of Suleiman Abubakar Campaign Organization, Abdullahi Shuaibu appealed to politicians in the country to place the interest of the country above personal interest by playing politics according to the role.

 

He said the country would get it right when politicians choose to leave by example by embracing their opponents after the conduct of election instead of causing confusion.

 

He urged members of the existing chapels in the NUJ to accord maximum support to the Chairman for a better NUJ in the State.

 

The newly elected Chairman of the State Council, Salihu Alkali thanked his opponent for the visit.

 

Alkali appreciated the Campaign team for finding time to congratulate him over his landslide victory in the just concluded election.

 

“For the first time a contestant that contested and lost would visit a winner, this a welcome development “.

 

NUJ Chairman called on political class in the country to inculcate Abubakar for showing good example.

 

He called on Journalists to utilize the “State of the Art” Press centre by making it lively at all times.

 

The Chairman said he would focus on welfare of members as well play an open door policy for all and sundry.

 

The Head of News, Nura Ado Abdullahi in a vote of thanks described the just concluded NUJ election as free, fair and credible election devoid of verbal abuse by members.

 

He commended Suleiman Abubakar for the decision he took to visit Precious F.M.

 

Nura called on members of the Union to support Salihu Alkali in all ramifications for him to succeed.

 

“Mr. Chairman you have a lot of work to do as the State Council Chairman especially at this critical moment of needs”.

 

He called on Comrade Alkali to focus on all in-conclusive Government.

 

He further lauded Suleiman Abubakar for displaying maturity with the outcome of the election.

 

Nura Ado Abdullahi advised the Chairman of the Council to apply carrot and stick approach to make the Union more vibrant robust.
