Deputy Speaker, 2 Plateau Assembly Members Decamp To APC

The plateau State Deputy Speaker, Hon Yusuf Babayo Gagdi and two other members have concluded plan to denounce their membership of People Democratic Party, (PDP) and defects to the All progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau.

The members, who submitted the letters indicating their readiness to decamp on the floor of the state assembly complex, blamed it on the impunity in PDP and non-inclusion of party faithful in the party affairs.

Information gathered that the Deputy Speaker who is the PDP leader in the state have been neglected by PDP chieftains during their several secret meetings held behind closed doors.

It would be recalled that the PDP Chairman in the State Hon Damishi Sango was recently accused by the party members as a selfish leader who had introduced divide and rule to favour some session of the PDP in his agenda.

The member representing Dengi constituency, Hon Sale Shehu Yipmong said, APC is gradually standing on rocking environment in Plateau state with decamping of more members.

He expressed confidence that, the APC family believe fairness to all members, “so we are ready to open our doors for wider consultation with those that are willing to join the party for the progress of the state and Nigeria,” he said.

The Plateau state House of Assembly member representing Dengi, also made a case that, the inclusion of the North-central in the area to cushion the effect of crisis is a welcome development to the state.

Hon   Shehu said, Plateau state is one of the states that were seriously affected by the sectarian crisis where houses, properties and lives were lost, so a senator representing North West making case for the state is a spirit of oneness.

Hon Yipmong pointed out that government should take the statistics of communities that are devastated should be consider ,we want those communities affected to return and receive adequate attention from government.

He saluted the courage of the Speaker for moving more members to decamp to the APC government toward strengthening the party internal mechanism.

Yipmong stressed that the party really want to develop Nigeria because a lot of things has change for better under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari in the area of diversification of the economy through agriculture.

Hon Sale Yipmong rated the performance of the house of Assembly very high within two years of legislative activities but stressd that the citizens have the final responsibility to access the members’ best.

According to him, the members also made many bills and motions which have reach 90%.

Lalong constants travel overseas has brought a lot of good news to the state where the Plateau citizens are benefiting from the revamping and revitalizing of mining sector ,main market authority ,Panyam fish farm and ASTC farm in Bokkos ,Riyom LGAs respectively, he said.
