Defeat Of Kidnappers In Burra Axis: Kudos To Nigerian Army

Abdul Ahmad Burra

The recent onslaught on kidnappers launched by the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in Burra forests of Ningi local Government of Bauchi State and sorroundings is indeed yielding positive results.

The kidnappers who hitherto operate freely in the area, kidnapped many people and collected huge millions of naira as ransom, are now decimated by security agencies with assistance of traditional rulers and vigilantes.

Few days after the kidnappers attacked Tipchi and Sabuwar Kaura villages and kidnapped women and children, a serious offensive was launched against them. Many of them were killed during exchange of fire with security agencies, some of them arrested, others run away while their camps in the forests were destroyed.

Few weeks ago, our people were living in fear and panic, many no-go-areas exist, farming activities were halted, businesses grounded and many people displaced. But now Alhamdulillah! Normalcy has returned. One can move freely from Burra to to Diwa to Basra to Dutsen Zaki upto Riruwai in Doguwa LG of Kano State. you can move from Burra through Dangarfa through Gamadadi through Sabuwar Kaura through Tipchi upto Yadagungume pass through Burku and Tulu in Toro LG without fear of kidnappers. One can also leave Burra pass through Dabar Baga through Gomo upto Massu, Sitti and Gani in Sumaila LG of Kano State with no fear of the defeated merciless kidnappers. All you can see in these forests are the remains of the destroyed camps of the kidnappers. All displaced persons especially herdsmen are returning to their villages and hamlets. Thanks be to Allah.

Many thanks to our security agencies, traditional rulers, politicians and Bauchi State government for joining hands together to secure our communities. People are really happy about this success. ‘Thank You M A’ and ‘Thank You Tukur Buratai is the song trending in this area.

We call on the security agencies and the Bauchi State government not to relent in their effort to to completely wipe out kidnappers from the state. The criminals may hide in other places or try to come back, therefore security agencies should be on alert and government should continue supporting them with all they need.

We are really winning this war against criminals in Bauchi State and we must commend Bauchi State government for their quick response to people’s yearnings and aspirations nowadays. I am particularly impressed with the way the govt responded to the situation in Burra District. Adequate relief materials were provided through SEMA and the security measures taken are really commendable. I call on the state govt to maintain the tempo and provide similar gesture to all nook and crannies of the state. Security measures similar to those taken by the workaholic administrator of Yankari Games Reserve Engr Habu Mamman to secure the game reserve, should be extended to all parts of the state.

May Allah protect us and our dear state as well as our country against all devils and evils.
